Winter Textures is a curated collection of five Max for Live devices designed for cinematic, ambient, and exploratory sound design inside Ableton Live.

This bundle brings together granular processing, spectral re-harmonization, probabilistic looping, and reflective ambience - tools built to slow time down, stretch sound into space, and uncover new musical ideas hiding inside familiar material.

Included Devices

Celestine

Celestine is a real-time, celestial granular instrument for Ableton Live.

It transforms incoming audio into shimmering clouds, drifting harmonics, orbiting textures, and evolving ambient beds - all in real time, and all completely click-free. Celestine is designed to feel fluid and musical, even at extreme settings, making it ideal for live performance, sound design, and long-form ambient composition.

Spectranaut

Spectranaut is an ambient playground - a love letter to ambient music.

At its core is a layered combination of spectral resonators and reverbs, all tied directly to Ableton Live 12’s global scale system. This allows you to turn monophonic material into lush, evolving chords, gently re-harmonize polyphonic audio, or create tonal soundscapes that always remain musically grounded.

Grain Storm

Grain Storm is a deep granular exploration device built with gen~ in Max for Live.

While rooted in classic granular techniques, Grain Storm adds its own character through unique scrubbing modes (from ultra-slow, PaulXStretch-style time dilation to fast, rhythmic motion), and controls that let you steer grains from soft drones into percussive textures using Decay, Ramp, and Sample & Hold interactions.

Prismatica

Prismatica is easiest to describe as an arpeggiator for audio.

A central looper feeds four additional loopers arranged in two pairs. Each loop has independent speed (and therefore pitch), including reverse playback. Rather than playing everything at once, probabilistic logic determines which loop is heard in each pair, allowing for constantly shifting rhythmic and harmonic motion.

The result is a device that can feel rhythmic, melodic, unpredictable, or meditative - especially powerful on sustained material, pads, and evolving textures.

ambi

ambi is inspired by a beloved boutique ambient guitar pedal (the one that rhymes with DUDE).

It captures a specific idea from that pedal: clock-based looping that shifts pitch in musically pleasing intervals (perfect fifths), producing rich harmonic motion when turned slowly or expressive, tape-like gestures when moved quickly.

The Clock control simultaneously shifts pitch up or down in musical steps and degrades or restores audio quality depending on direction, adding lo-fi charm when slowed

ambi also includes two freezable reverbs (a cavernous space and a shimmer) plus delay - making it ideal for reflective, nostalgic, and textural sound design.
